| come on now deutschland, another final, another defeat? this is really getting old. and really really strange. to me the germans seem like one of the most mentally tough teams around. their penalty shootout record is astounding after all. yet they can't help but choke when it comes down to the wire. ah well. kudos the spain. finally, they win something after 44 years. 44! that's absurd, considering the talent that's been churning out of spain for the last 40yrs. and luis aragones becomes the oldest manager to win the euro at 69 (i believe). 69! that means he was actually 25 when spain won the euro. wow. that's old.
this, of course, emphasizes england's shortcomings on the international stage. spain ended a 44yr wait, while england are currently on a 42yr wait. that means if they don't win the 2010 world cup, they will have the longest trophy wait amongst the "big nations". boy, is that embarassing or waht. ahwell. good luck to them. some ppl are already writing them off for 2010, but i don't see why they can't genuinely compete. capello is a good coach so tactically they shld be sound (despite what his first few matches may suggest), and england do genuinely have talent. young talent especially, what with bentley, joe cole, rooney, lennon, richards and the like. so who knows, 44 years could be the lucky number.
who knows what the future could hold... [cue dry ice and mystical music]

| ok. the dutch are high and flying now, and that's all fine and dandy. but i have just one question: van der vaart! where are you?! before the tournemant i thought that he wld be the key player, the playmaker, but hes faded into the background thanks to sneijder. and this sucks. cmon rafael, stand up and be counted!
ok. a week ago i would've thought 'ok, the nba finals are done and settled. boston are gonna win it and garnett's finally gonna get a championship ring (very deservedly)" fast forward one week and suddenly it looks as though it could (and will) go down to game 7. kobe's a beast! watching him play is mad. when he gets into top gear i think its the closest to watching jordan play again. every shot, every dunk, every layup, every pass seems to work out to perfection. insane.
ok time to shut up and go do the bloody lit essay which i realised exists yesterday, and is due bloody tomorrow.
plus, it is a certainty that i will fail math and bio. chem is still in limbo. and i wont even bother talking abt lit.

| un-fucking-believable. holland 4 france 1 !!! ah i feel guilty for even doubting them. but seriously, i would nvr have expected them to get thru the group so easily, but they've just been unbelievable. first time ive ever seen a dutch side show any semblance of teamwork. hope they can maintain this all the way. if they can, theres no doubt that they can win it all.
Hup Holland! | |

| HOLLAND 3 ITALY 0 !! oh yea! magnificent result. even i didnt expect such a big win. fantastic. plus france drew with romania and theyre looking weak. alright time to pick them off. wow who knows holland might even top the group. although i am a lil worried about them self destructing as they have done thru history. okok nothing to do but sit back and watch some Oranje magic :D | |
